The weight is lifting

First things first - if you haven't yet voted in my poll, please do! It'll only take a minute and I'd really appreciate your input. (And if you've already done it, thanks again!)
I wrote my first of two exams this morning - this one for Lit Theory. I felt really good about it, MUCH better than I felt about the paper. Still no idea how well I did on that, but at least I don't have to think about it any more. The exam on Thursday will be relatively easy, except for the whole "it's at 9 in the morning" thing. For the next couple of days I'm going to do my DAMNEDEST to go to bed at a reasonable hour so it won't kill me (again). (I have a jump-start today - I think I managed five hours of sleep last night?)
Now I get to write an essay for Drama Production (the course for which I was working backstage for Chicago). I started brainstorming and outlining for it over the weekend and I think I have a good direction for it - a little bit academic, a little bit journalistic, generally reflective. Not a free ride by any means, but definitely nice compared to the Big Bad Paper.
I'm also writing a short play for "Theatre on the Edge" next year - providing I can wrap my head around it and can come up with characters I like. I have an idea, but no people to carry it through yet. I may just start writing it and see where it goes and then take it back to planning. Oh yeah, and this is due on Monday, too. So my life is really interesting right up until 10 days before Christmas, and then I have a CRAZY wide-open schedule. Remind me to start filling it with stuff, would ya?

Date: 2008-12-09 09:47 pm (UTC)Great to hear from you. I am in pretty good spirits these days, though I am bracing myself for some time off - I enjoy having free time but if I don't structure it at all I don't enjoy myself and get depressed and guilty. So I'm guarding against that somewhat, but I'm sure I'll be fine.
Happy holidays!
