I've been sick for about a week now, maybe a bit more. It's a relatively low-level illness and so is more of an inconvenience than anything, but I am starting to get tired of having my nose run like a fawcet. Mum has a neti-pot that she's never used and I am tempted to see if that will help to clear out the ol' sinuses at all.
Remember how I said a week ago or so that I was going to be doing all sorts of writing and such over the holidays? Yeah, so that hasn't happened yet. In the days up until Christmas I was busy for practically every waking moment getting my baking done, wrapping it and other things, delivering stuff, cooking meals, etc. Being sick didn't help, either. And then on the day and the eve there's the inevitable (and totally enjoyable) socializing.
I can't make any excuses for today, though: I spent about five hours working on the K'nex rollercoaster that I got from my folks (yes, I got a toy! And I LOVE it!) I got it working, too, even though one of the pieces mysteriously disappeared on me, and has been replaced with electrical tape. When I was a kid I always wanted one of these things but back then they were too expensive for me to ask for 'em. It's been downright therapeutic, working on it: like Rock Band, it engages a totally different part of my brain than English essays do. Again: LOVE IT.
Anyway. I haven't even figured out exactly what I want to work on over the holidays yet, and I only have ten days left in which to actually DO it (amid partying and more socializing, of course), so I had better hop to it already. That's what I'm doing tonight. Well, that and drinking hot chocolate with Bailey's.
