One paper down...
Sep. 30th, 2008 02:08 pm... about a hundred to go. Okay, so not THAT many. This one is an early entry which frees up my actual output schedule for the next few weeks. In the interim I need to start work on my research paper by, um, y'know... researching. Wee!
And thanks to my study binge last weekend my workload is pretty light for the next little while, so I can start to do the little things like research graduate programs and jump-start my university's GLBTQ group. (If the amount of activity LAST year is any indication, a defibrillator may be necesary.) I'm going to see if the olde adage of "if you build it, they will come" has anything to it. As far as I'm concerned, even a little university NEEDS a GLBTQ group, though all we do is screen queer-themed documentaries and point people to helpful websites.
By some stroke of insanity I am actually going to have been *shudder* clothes shopping for TWO DAYS IN A ROW. My god, what has become of my life? Am I suddenly on What Not to Wear? (And if so, where the hell is my five thousand bucks and trip to New York?) Let it be known: I hate shopping. But good lord did I ever need new pants, and I managed to find some, for which there shall be rejoicing and feasting for a fortnight. Today I'm mostly keeping my grandmother company while she sifts through the thrift stores, but I'm hoping to pick up a shirt or two in the process.
Oh yes, and guess who is playing tonight? In my very own hometown?

Yep. Apparently it's just him and the piano. I'd love to be there, but tickets were impossible to get and extremely expensive. But my parents are going, so that's awesome - after all, they've been his fans since he was all young and spry and such. So they deserve to go.
I'll just have to go to Vegas some day, that's all.
