Weekending!
Sep. 20th, 2008 11:15 amHad a great Friday night hanging out with friends and generally playin' the fool. Now it's Saturday and, amazingly enough, kind of sunny! The weather network tells me that it's about 14 degrees, but if we're out of the wind it could be a fair sight warmer. I'm crossing my fingers that my folks and I (and anybody else who happens to drop in for "coffee club") will be able to sit out on the deck one last time. Seeing as how we can count on one hand the number of times that it's been nice enough to sit out there on a Saturday morning ALL SUMMER, it'd be a decent fairwell.
My aunt who's home from Saudi Arabia is going home early next week, so we're going out with her tonight for dinner and then to catch Ken Tobias and his band. Apparently it's a CD release party, which we didn't realize when we bought the tickets, so it'll be a lot of fun.
I applied for a job on Friday as a student research assistant. Still have my fingers crossed that I'll get a job at the radio station (and I'm just crazy enough that I'll probably take both, if the hours will work.) Some kind of income will be nice, but nicer still BY FAR will be the structured time it'll bring with it. I got a whopping amount of NOTHING done this week (I did my required readings and little pieces of homework, but I need to get AHEAD a bit before mid-October rolls around).
This week my back also decided that hurting would be FUN! I got into a habit of using the laptop while sitting in the la-z-boy chair, and I'm pretty sure that this is what's throwing me out. Have been SUPER posture-aware this week, and have gone back to never crossing my legs, getting ergonomically comfy for when I have to type, etc.
I've been eating really well, which is awesome, but it's great walking weather now - I need to get out and move around some more. My back will appreciate me for it.
