End of an era
Sep. 7th, 2005 01:26 amTonight is my last night shift. More specifically, tonight is the last night I'll be a full-time contracted employee here, after nearly four years. As of this weekend I'll be a student on-call, working directly for IBM 16 hours a week. And you can bet I'm happy about it.
(Okay, as an aside - I think I was secretly just a little hopeful that I'd wind up having to leave this job and find something new. I was (am) getting restless. I mean, how many people at 22 can say that they've been working full-time at the same place for four years? I definitely needed to change things up... but I think SCHOOL will do that, thanks. I'm sure I'll have plenty of job-huntingwoes fun in the years to come.)
I feel like I should celebrate somehow, but my kind of celebrations usually involve booze and food. So maybe not.
