1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Start taking a Martial Art.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't really make any last year. I plan on it this year, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
A girl I know at work, but nobody in the family.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
My great aunt died in February.

5. What countries did you visit?
None other than my home country.

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
A more stable sense of self-worth (I think I'm well on the way).

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory?
September 19th.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Learning to play guitar.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being true to myself, even if it would have meant tough love for someone I care about.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
A train ticket to Halifax.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
[livejournal.com profile] nezchan.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
At times, myself. At times, someone else.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food. I hate to think how much money I spent on food this year. Another thing to be added to the resolutions for next year.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going on a train trip for the first time since I was little; waiting for Return of the King to come out.

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
"White Flag" by Dido... with one alteration to the lyrics: "I won't go down with this ship."

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
I can't answer this question in one word. In some ways I'm sadder. But in many others, I'm happier. I guess you could say that overall, I'm more content.

About the same, and prepping to go down.

iii. richer or poorer?
Poorer, if only because I'm paying my own bills now.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Playing the guitar, spending time doing things outside of the house, following through on some of my film related ambitions.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eating. Wondering what to do next. enabling.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With my immediate family, and visiting as many folks as possible.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
Not in the soul-attached-forever sense, no. But I think I fell a little bit in love with a lot of folks this year.

23. How many one night stands?
Not as such.

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
I didn't watch much TV at all. Nothing regularly.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.

26. What was the best book you read?
I think I read "The Hobbit" which was great.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Genesis.

28. What did you want and get?
Freedom

29. What did you want and not get?
Understanding.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Return of the King!!

31. What did you do on your birthday?
I had folks over for a party, I had a cake that wanted to die, I cried a bit and felt bad. Like every year previous, really.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
There isn't one single thing.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Black black and black.

34. What kept you sane?
Remembering that I'm worth something, that I'm not the only one, or even the primary one at fault, realizing that I can't change what people think.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Eh. Hard to say. Michelle Yeoh rocks.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The war. Mainly because I was told that my opinion was, flat out, wrong.

37. Who did you miss?
Someone I'll never see again.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
[livejournal.com profile] nezchan.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003.
That people who shut themselves away from you despite your efforts to make them happy aren't worth mourning over, no matter how much you love them.
